I had been missing from my blog for quite some days as I was taking a ‘creative nap’ at mommy’s. Spending time at your mother’s house is always memorable. Here is a short trip down the memory lane as how I spent the last week while chilling at my mommy’s home and made the best of my leisure time. Here is the story!
Although I’m a stay-at-home mommy/blogger myself but trust me, this whole philosophy behind packing your bag and assuming the role of a lazy, and tired house guest is just so amazing ;p
So those who are not familiar with this tradition – it is the re-fueling mechanism for the ladies who want to change the weather by crashing into their mommy’s house to chill and be their old little girl again, get pampered, does absolutely nothing, chat about anything and everything, discover the new family politics, download unnecessary shit into their mommy’s heart, go for aimless shopping just to feel a little better about themselves and let their child play with the cousins and build their own memories.
Woah…sounds like a BIG task!
I’m the youngest child of my parents and have always enjoyed the role of that little kid who gets a lot of attention from everyone at home. I have spent a larger part of my life not understanding my parents’ feeling towards me – would always tell them where they were wrong and I was right or how their love is too much to handle or how they loved my other sibling more than they loved me at times. I still recall my parents arguing as to who will drop me at work/college when I wasn’t married and they both had their services available for me. I used to find my father’s jingles funny and sometimes embarrassing that he would sing for me but now that I’m a mother myself and keep my daughter entertained with creative love poems that are revealed upon me from time to time, I now understand the depth of my parent’s love.
Btw, when we were living together, I had a lot of difference in opinion with them, but with time and experience, I have come to believe that letting go should have been my mantra. Anyway, no one is perfect – I hope we all get to learn something or the other from each other when it is not too late.
So I was there for almost a week. We happened to explore Lahore with the perspective of making sure that our kids are entertained throughout. There is a new Army Museum opened up next to the Lahore Airport. The weather was nice in the evening and they had tanks, helicopters, aircrafts on the display outside the main building. The museum gets closed at 4PM and unfortunately we reached there at 5PM so we couldn’t go inside but I have heard some good stuff about it and hence, we have put our next visit in the near future because we enjoyed even the outskirts of the museum equally well.

I also happened to see the Sunsilk PFDC Fashion Show 2018 on Sunday 11th March, 2018. It was an experience of its own stature. Fahad Hussayn and Mona Imran were showcasing their work. Although it started pretty late but we had a lot of fun. Minus the time and seating management, the show was carried out pretty well. Among the models, Husnain Lehri, Alizeh Gabol, Amna Ilyas were present.
Pakistan Fashion Industry has come a long way and I truly believe that all the emerging designers have a lot of contribution behind this. It takes a lot of hard work by a league of people to make something a success. Designers and models were once the far-fetched phenomenon in our society. Now, they act as influencers even in our daily lifestyle routine.
Anyway, the time spent at my parents’ was a great break away from the daily routine in many ways. Also, coming home after a bit of time rekindle the romance between the husband and wife, which sort of, put a happy end to this short trip 🙂
Hope you missed my blog as much I missed writing one 🙂
Till then, bub bye!
