Just like my post “The Other Life“, this is going to be yet another weird post on dreams so just be patient with my ideas or whatever I have to say about the power of dreams.

– 1 – Last night I dreamt of being in a hall, waiting for my turn for something I don’t have any clarity on. Everything looked bluish. The dream was totally normal and I don’t remember anything else but the fact that I was sitting on that silver colored chair and suddenly, while being in the dream – I was somehow communicated that my kid’s diaper has leaked and needs to be changed – CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS? 😐

I opened my eyes. It was 6:20 AM in the morning. I checked my elder girl. Well, her diaper was actually leaked and she was very uncomfortable in her sleep. Then I thought of checking my younger kid and phew – she needed to be changed as well.

In this incident, what is more interesting is neither the dream itself nor the chore I was expected to do. It was the interruption of reality with the dream that made me ponder over this . I really couldn’t digest the fact that the course of dream can be totally altered somehow with some message that was connected with the reality.

– 2 – Many years ago, I was with my mother and she was deep asleep. Suddenly, I heard her sobbing while sleeping. I got really worried and started calming her down without even waking her up. But there was no way, she could get out of it. It left me with no choice but to shrug her a bit hard and make her wake up. She could only recall being in deep pain and that’s it.

That incident made me realize the power of dreams in controlling our body functions although I always thought of them as being benign. We cannot represent an evidence of any incident that may have happened in our dream – yet it can control our mind and body rather perfectly. Have you heard of people who sleepwalk? Or talk while sleeping? All these people are in a state of dream while performing these acts yet not knowing what they are up to. So who is asking them to talk or walk? The Dream?

This has actually led me to believe that dreams are extremely powerful. This hazy state of limbo, which puts us neither here nor there, can actually control our body. This has also made me thought of people, who die while sleeping, as being called up by their dream. After all, who knows?

Somebody getting a cardiac arrest while sleeping or any organ failure can actually be a death call that was made in a dream. After all, we lose control over our mind and the body is left at the disposal of the unknown.

So what is a dream? It is the spell of a recent thought, spicy food you have eaten, broken childhood memories, any recent impression made in the mind. Dream is actually a chaotic, jumbled up phenomena. What makes it a risky business is its ability of thoughtlessness and control over the body both at the same time.

I wish we could somehow get into a dream, record it scientifically and start tracking its basics. I also believe that by cracking its code, we can stop it from killing people when we, somehow, prove that a dream can actually stop any body organ to work, just like it forces it to perform any task…

Anyway, thank you for taking out time to read this weird post – I do think about weird stuff sometimes so here it is 🙂
