Cafe Zouk is an age old restaurant built at the corner of M.M Alam road. Although I was made acquainted to it years after its launch, I loved it for its food. I remember years ago somebody told me a story on how they re-worked on their image to attract a specific kind of target market.

Tu story kuch youn hai bhayion k they had comfy chairs and quiet environment in the beginning but it started attracting mid-to-old age people. Their target market was the young-hip crowd so they changed the chairs. Made them less cushiony and hence, less comfortable than before. Started playing loud music, cluttered up the seating area and turned it into something which oldies don’t find any ease with. Hence, without putting up a sign board to hush away the unwanted crowd, these gimmicks helped cafe Zouk to stand where it is today. I have no idea if this story is right or not but they surely worked cleverly to built what they wanted. Plus, I liked this story and hence #spreadingrumor:)

Perhaps I visited them 10 years ago for the first time but till date, neither their food quality has deteriorated nor their potion size has shrunken with time. They fall under the expensive lot but every single item on their menu is worth the money.

I’m not a hoteling person but Zouk always fall under the list of options whenever we do plan for fine dining. The reasons are quite obvious – their food is yummy and location is central. Btw, the restaurant is not kid-friendly. With small chandelier hanging over the center of tables making them enticing for kids to touch and play with, I would recommend to leave your toddlers at home.

Hung out with friends a little while back and took some yummy photos!

Featured Image is of the Molten Lava Cake served with two scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream that makes it a killer 🙂

Don’t really want to badmouth other restaurants but I have serious issues with the potion size mostly served. The quantity is too small for single serving – make you wonder what made you bring to them.

Anyway, today’s post intention was to tease your taste buds, feel free to go to your kitchen and enjoy the yummy food you can find in your fridge – after all, who can leave home at quarter past eleven (that’s the very time on the clock right now) for food.

Until next time, bub bye 🙂
